We went to the hospital today for the initial round of tests and whatnot. It was pretty easy for me - I had to answer a few questions, but mostly I was a spectator.
Max got grilled, then prodded and poked a bit.
It all culminated in going in to meet our nice consultant, Dr Bond (licenced to... examine), and having our first scan.
He had to hunt around for a bit, but he found our blob. They measured it on screen, and decided that we are at 8 weeks (as I suspected) not 12 as the doctor thought was possible.
I've never much got excited about other peoples scan pictures, and this was just a little blob on screen, but when he pointed out the beating heart, it was a bit of a buzz. I think for the first time, at that point, we actually started believing it was real.
So we have a scan, which is online below (click the link). We have to go back in 4 weeks for our 12 week proper. Oh, our new due date is 4th October 2003.
