The Twilight Zone

| | Comments (2)

Well, THAT was wierd.

We're just back from our first 'Parent Craft' class. It started with the classic - write your name on a sticky label, slap it on your chest, sit in a circle, and, in turn, TELL EVERYONE YOUR NAME. This was my second time doing this today! (I was at a business forum this afternoon).

Worse still, while the girl's only had to say how long they had to go, the men had to say their name, and 'what they liked best about the pregnancy so far'.
Most of us lied and made something funny up (you can't be a soppy git in front of strangers).

It then proceeded into a P3 class...

"Does anyone know what the first signs of Labour are?"

[Long Silence]

"Anyone?"

[Long Silence]

"Contractions! Yes, well done. Anything else?"

And so on.

To cut a (very) long story short, we got to see a model of a pelvis, some scary pictures of a birth, put little cards in the right order, massage or ladies backs, and generally feel like primary school kids again.

We have another 3 of these. I don't know if I'll manage them all.

Give me Food!

I dunno about eating for two but when I need food, I NEED FOOD NOW! I am going through a stage of constantly thinking about food. They say the average man thinks about sex every 3 seconds, well I reckon the average up the duff girl must think about food every 2 seconds!

I had to go home from work today at about 11.30 so I could get something to eat. I think Warren realised if he didn't let me then I would end up going completely physco in the office. All I can say is, for once thank god my boss is my husband! How else would I get through my hunger fuelled day?

Moving up a gear

Today we shifted up a gear on Operation: Prepare For Baby.

We have a big list of things to get done to the house, pre-junior (guess who made THAT out... ;) ). Today, with 99 days to go, we completed one of the bigger ones - we painted the bathroom.

Whether we will successfully complete the list or not before the big day is not something I would put money on, but we'll have a bloody good go.

Big is Better

Well I never thought I would complain if someone said I had a small belly! But honestly, 3 people in the past few days have said things like, 'you're not very big are you?' or 'you've got a neat little bump'. All I could say was 'no! its not that small, its big!'

Its funny really, I know its a compliment, but I am getting so defensive over my bump...I am sure I will change my mind in another month or so time when i can't even bend over to put my socks on!

One Good Reason

Never mind the continuation of the human race. Forgot about an primal instinct that goes back through thousands of generations.

I'm having a baby, so I can do things like this.

Jumping Bean

| | Comments (1)

Spent the whole day at work today doing everything wrong.
My brain has finally ceased to work: unless its baby related issues that is.
Maybe its because every five minutes I nearly jump out of my seat due to the jumping bean in my belly that either takes me by suprise or tickles me.
Its so weird growing a baby...

Well its a couple of weeks late but I thought I would put up a pic of my ever expanding bump...so you can see my big belly at 19 weeks and I am sure there is lots more expanding to happen yet so I'll keep you posted!
