November 2003 Archives
There is nothing remotely nice about holding your lovely little babys' leg while the bad doctor sticks in a needle and makes her scream like she is being tortured. I must have had a look of horror on my face without even realising as the doctor spent her time reassuring me rather than Emily! At least its done now anyway...mind you the baby clinic was quite weird, it was like being on a baby vaccination conveyor belt.
So I got her weighed while I was there too and she is now a hefty 13lb! She really does take after her dad...hehe..
I have been waiting for this day with much anticipation.
Today I have decided to celebrate.
Celebrate the fact that Emily has been really good all day, hardly puked (until tonight), let me visit my friend and then go round the shopping centre - all without a murmour. If that is not worth celebrating I don't know what is! And well, really its about time I had a little drink...a toast to motherhood!
Ok ok so its taken us ages to get more pictures, but honestly they are worth waiting for! So click here to see more photos of our beautiful, adorable little girl...
We promise to try and put more up a bit sooner next time! She changes so much everyday we wouldn't want you to miss anything. We might even get a movie clip on one of these days. Hope you enjoy them...
Today Emily and I spent nearly 3 hours apart. I had been planning to get pampered and get my hair done as soon as was possible after Emily was born and was waiting for the right moment before I made the appointment. So after testing the expressing and the bottle instead of boob feeding I finally arranged todays appointment and I have to say was really looking forward to it. But as the time came nearer I started to feel more nervous at the prospect of being away from my little girl for the first time.
So Julie and Irene (Woz's sister & mom) came with me and took Emily off on an adventure round the shopping centre while I went for my lovely new hair-do. I did try and relax but couldn't help constantly wondering where they were and what they were up to. I have to add at this point that I even dressed her in a 'I love my mummy' t-shirt that Woz bought last week, just so that she wouldn't forget about me! Crazy!
Well it all had to happen when I was in the hairdressers didn't it?! After being out a few times Emily, where she had slept through the afternoon I was hoping for a similar performance today...but it wasn't to be. Three firsts:
1. Screaming in a public place
2. Projectile pooing and puking over all her clothes (lucky I had put in a spare)
3. Feeding of mommy express milk in cafe
And I missed it all...!
At least my first separation experience is over and hopefully next time will be a bit easier and I will be able to resist the urge to call and text every five minutes to see whats going on.
By the way, I love my new haircut!
