It's Landed!

Emily had her first poo in the potty today!! It was such an exciting moment. I don't know why I thought about giving it a try but after lunch I asked her if she wanted to sit on her potty and she said yes, so I thought I would give it a go. We have attempted this before but either nothing has happened or she has got fed up sitting there.

I tried to contain my excitement, just in case Emily got all excited, jumped up and knocked the potty over! She knew exactly what needed to happen next as she said 'flush poo poo toilet'! This is because we have been emptying her nappies down the loo with the added ritual of saying 'bye poo poo' when flushed. So I gave her lots of praise, she got a sticker for herself and a sticker for Mr Doggy Potty and was told every time she goes to the potty there will be stickers all round!

We couldn't wait to tell Daddy when he came back from work and guess what? After dinner we put her on the potty and she went again! So Daddy could join in the celebration first hand. So I guess we are practically in the final stage of babyness, as our little girl suddenly seems not so little.

An Inspiring Poet

Well kind of - that's what I like to think anyway! Emilys' conversation is great now, we can hold proper conversations, apart from the odd thing she says which is hard to understand. There is probably a hundred different things I could tell you about but the cutest of all is her latest liking of rhyme.

She calls me 'Mommy ommy', Warren is 'Daddy addy', her special blanket is 'Rubby ubby' and the most recent addition to this is 'huggy uggy' and 'Nanny anny'! It is so cute!

As well as this uber cuteness there is also the not so cute defiance. If she is really annoyed or grumpy about something she will say no to everything you say, for instance if i ask her if she is grumpy she says 'No grumpy!' or yesterday this advanced to pulling my nose and saying 'No nose!' then it was 'No hair, no mouth!' In fact, when she did this we were originally cross about something (i've forgotten what now) but it was so funny the way she did it we couldn't help but laugh. But on a stricter note we will have to keep this in check and make sure she doesn't turn into a madam!
