It's Landed!
Emily had her first poo in the potty today!! It was such an exciting moment. I don't know why I thought about giving it a try but after lunch I asked her if she wanted to sit on her potty and she said yes, so I thought I would give it a go. We have attempted this before but either nothing has happened or she has got fed up sitting there.
I tried to contain my excitement, just in case Emily got all excited, jumped up and knocked the potty over! She knew exactly what needed to happen next as she said 'flush poo poo toilet'! This is because we have been emptying her nappies down the loo with the added ritual of saying 'bye poo poo' when flushed. So I gave her lots of praise, she got a sticker for herself and a sticker for Mr Doggy Potty and was told every time she goes to the potty there will be stickers all round!
We couldn't wait to tell Daddy when he came back from work and guess what? After dinner we put her on the potty and she went again! So Daddy could join in the celebration first hand. So I guess we are practically in the final stage of babyness, as our little girl suddenly seems not so little.

Tonight, I have applauded because another person had a poo in the same room as me, and then got up and showed it to me.
I will add that to my (ever growing) list of things I never imagined doing in my life.
Sally, this is the part where any niggling doubts you had about not having a kid are probably dispelled. But look on the bright side! You would get to say 'Poo' a lot.... I can imagine that making you laugh.
Warren,
I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes from laughing - oh my god poo poo poo!
love
Sal
Congratulations to Emily (and Mr Doggy Potty) on this milestone! I heartily recommend having a variation on the game that you play with clouds, saying that they look like sheep, cows etc. Crouch with your child next to the poo-filled potty saying "Hmm, I think that one looks like a crocodile!" or whatever the steaming pile looks like . Lydia wasn't too keen on this game but Cordy and I (who both think poos are very funny) thought it was great. Any comments that this was disgusting were met by Cordy shrugging her shoulders and saying "It's just poo poo" like you were some type of idiot. Sadly, all this is now lost to us, as Cordy does all her poos and wees in the toilet and the potty gathers dust in the corner......
Congratulations to Emily! This is the end of babyhood....
Steve Chown - I can't believe you would tell people you did that. It *is* disgusting!
(shrugs) It's just poo-poo
Well done to all. I want to know what you are gonna do with the money you save on nappies?
