February 2006 Archives

Today, we went to meet Michelle and Krystal for tea and scones. Emily went on lots of those mini rides in shopping centres (its very hard to get her off them once she's on, but who can blame her when its so much fun?!). She had a great day with her friends and I ended up painting faces as you can see. When I asked Emily what she wanted to be she asked for a dinosaur...I couldn't for the life of me work out how to paint a dinosaur face and this is what she ended up looking like!
Today we went to the library, for a sing song in rhyme-time and a look at the books. We also took back two books that we had previously borrowed. After we gave the books back I started to think that I was stuck in an episode of Charlie & Lola (not many people will get this but if you have seen the library episode you will know what I mean!).
Emily got really upset and had a big lip, saying over and over, 'Thats MY book. Thats my Charlie & Lola book. Thats MY Charlie & Lola book mommy'. When I explained to her that the other boys and girls might want to read it too she just said, 'NO! Thats MY Charlie & Lola book!'. This is all I heard all the way home.
So if you are reading this Warren, we have ourselves a real life little Lola and I think a trip to the Amazon shop might be in order!

Don't be too alarmed by appearances, Auntie Julie & Uncle Paul don't always look like this. They can be quite normal really (well I suppose that depends on your definition of 'normal'!).
Despite this, yesterday we asked Julie and Paul to be Emily's Godparents. I suppose, because we are not church goers, what we really mean is is her legal guardians, in the event that anything should happen to us. Thanks for accepting you two! We know how much Emily means to you and we thought you were perfect for the job!
Warren reckons Julie might find someway to bump us off now, so if anything strange happens you know where to look first!
