Emily has introduced a great new adjective into her vocabulary recently...SUPER!
When she runs, she's "Super Fast", when she has a good day, it's "Super Great", and the dinner mummy made the other night was "Super Brilliant Lovely". I like it a lot.
The other measure of greatness is her rating system. A while back, in an attempt to get her to behave, I explained a scale of 0 to 10, and asked her to be "10 Good".
For a while, Emily would ask "am I 10 good?", and I would say "Yes, 10 good" or "hmmm, maybe about 5 good at the moment", and of course, sometimes "no, you are being zero good!".
Then, Emily appropriated this scale for herself, and would describe things as being "Ten Good!". Soon however, our scale wasn't cutting it, and things began to be "Forty Good", "Fifty Good" and, best of all "FortyFifty Good!".
Today, something was described as "EightyNinety Good!". I'm not sure where we go from here. "Super Brilliant EightyNinety Good" perhaps?
Emily is really developing a sense of humour. She can be so funny sometimes and when its at more naughty times, its a challenge not to laugh. She has taken to blaming things on her teddies. I just checked on her tonight and her bedroom light was on and I asked her what she was doing. She said Mr Pump turned on the light (another funny thing is that she calls her big teddy this, as with lots of kids the words, bum, poo and pump never fail to make her laugh). She also blames things on Boo, another teddy she has, who also likes to put the light on.
The other day she was sitting on the sofa having some grapes and strawberries when she started haveing a conversation with her fruit. It went like this:
Emily puts a grape into her mouth then..
"Help!"
She then says "I'm coming" and puts another grape into her mouth
She says "Help" then "I'm coming!" followed by another grape
This carried on for the duration of eating her fruit, I have probably missed out some other funny bit to add to that as I was out of the room at the time - so please change it Warren if I have missed something! To be honest I am quite chuffed at the level of her imagination hehe! Thats my girl!
As you may have gathered over the past while, Harrison likes to be noisy. 9 months and he's already getting boisterous! Even when he's not crying you could hear his shouting down the street. He babbles away to himself non stop and sings to himself in the car, its so funny to hear.
Warren reckons we should say his first word is tickle. You should hear him sometimes, he sits there going "Tickle ickle tickle ickle tickle..." its so funny. He has also taking to clapping his hands to things and he makes other funny gestures too. You can tell he just wants to communicate.
I think we are also finally getting to the sitting up unaided landmark. He'll sit there on a rug without any help for a very short while. Eventually he flops himself onto his back or front, but at least he is getting there. I think he just loves rolling around on the floor picking things up as he goes. Its funny cause I was reading back on the archives and discovered that Emily was standing at this stage! Its crazy how different they are and interesting.
But apparently they both had a love of pulling off their socks and eating them!

I am late posting about our lovely weekend break to Dundee to see Sally & Paul. I honestly don't know where the time goes! It was Harrison's first proper trip. We had a lovely time, its always good seeing friends and getting away. Harrison didn't completely settle in the nights, as it was his first time in the travel cot. But other than that there was no problem. We had a weekend of fun playing the Wii and lots of other games (which Emily loved of course) and lots of wine mmmmm. I even managed to sneak into Dundee town with Sal ON OUR OWN! for a spot of shopping.
It was a bit of a trek on the way back and things were a little more fraught. But they were both so tired and it was a long day travelling - leaving at 10am and getting home at 10.30pm - so its hardly surprising really isn't it?
Thanks for a great weekend you two! More pictures coming soon as usual...
